Arrows for Sale
Jeff went into the archery supply store to check out the new line of arrows for sale. They weren't the ordinary cedar shaft wood arrows. These arrows were made from carbon based composites that offered a promise of superior light weight and better accuracy. He looked at the price and thought they must be able to turn Boy Scouts into Olympian competitors. These were not kiddie arrows. Straight and true, they were the lightest arrows he'd ever seen. The brochure said they were harmonically balanced, like the composite compound bows that were on display a few aisles over. Some of Jeff's friends were already at the store when he arrived. They had all planned to meet there after breakfast, earlier, and then spend the day at the archery range shooting at targets. Everyone had the bow they preferred, but it was always fun to look at the bows and arrows, regardless of whether they were old or new. Available in lacquered shafts that could be finished arrows or bare wood, the gloss made them shine under the store lights. They had pretty feathers that made them spin when they were released from the bow, and archers could have fun either shooting at targets or hunting for game. Jeff was looking at a crossbow for sale when someone asked him to come look at long boy they were admiring. The string on the long bow was double helix braided nylon. With a little bowstring wax, this bow could send an arrow much further and more accurately than most of the bows in the store. However, it was as much the archer as it was the bow when it came to hitting a target. They joined some of the others to look at some of the new tips that had come in: broadheads, judo points, target points, and field points. With their razor sharp edges, the broadheads cold penetrate soft material like a machete through a stick of butter. Jeff finally decided that he would try out the composite material arrows, and purchased a couple of the bare shafts. He had them fletched with new feathers right there in the store. The sales person also added target points to the two arrows. He picked up one of them and looked it over. It seemed balanced and straight. He decided to get a new bow stabilizer and bow site while he was there. He seemed satisfied, as he paid for the new arrows and left with the other guys. |
